St. Arsema Online Coding Class Registration 2023

St. Arsema Coding Class empowers students by providing opportunity to learn skills of problem solving. The program started first in February 2020 and has provided coding lessons to students. We are now accepting application for the second round of coding class to introduce students to the exciting world of computer science. The goal is to introduce students to basic problem solving skills and coding in a fun and interactive way. After completing the course students will also work in teams to complete their final graduation project

Application for 2023 is CLOSED

Skill Levels:

  1. Introduction to Programming - Targeted to elementary and middle school students who are new to coding and will provide them basic skills needed to learn problem solving using coding. At the end of the class students will work as a team on their final project.

  2. Advanced Programing - This is targeted to middle and high school students who have experience in coding before and have already taken the introduction course.

Requirements:

  1. Complete application. Deadline: Dec 24th, 2022

  2. Read the required reading material (see test for specific section for each level below)

  3. Complete the placement exam (based on the reading material) - Will be shared over email after registration.

  4. Write a short essay from list of topics provided here. Submission deadline: Dec 24th, 2022

Students Responsibility:

  1. Access to computer and internet to attend class online.

  2. Access to email to check homework and assignments.

  3. Commit to attend class online with maximum of 3 excused absence. This is an 8-10 month commitment.

  4. Complete all assigned class and homework

  5. Actively participate in course project and work with others in the team.
